Government That Works for the People of Camden County
At the heart of my campaign is a simple but profound conviction: the Presiding Commissioner works for the people of Camden County not the other way around. Servant leadership is not a management style I adopted from a business book. It is a way of life rooted in my Christian faith, which has taught me that true leadership begins with humility, that authority is a trust to be honored rather than a privilege to be enjoyed, and that the measure of any leader is found not in the title she holds but in the people she lifts up. I have tried to live that out in my marriage, in raising our four children, in my years of service through Rotary, the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary, and as Volunteer Coordinator at Lake Regional Health System. Every one of those roles required me to show up, listen well, and put other people's needs ahead of my own comfort and convenience. That is precisely how I intend to serve as your Presiding Commissioner.
A Camden County Commissioner's office with an open door is not just a campaign promise it is a moral commitment. No constituent should have to navigate a maze of gatekeepers or wait weeks for a returned phone call to access their own county government. No county employee should feel that the person at the top of the organizational chart is unreachable or uninterested in what they are experiencing on the ground. I will be present, I will be accessible, and I will be genuinely accountable to every corner of this county from the longtime resident with a road concern to the department head navigating a difficult personnel matter. My faith calls me to see the dignity in every person who walks through that door, and my character compels me to respond with honesty, compassion, and action. Camden County does not need a commissioner who rules from a distance. It needs one who serves from the center and that is exactly who I intend to be.
